What makes training at Soul of Kung Fu different?

My classes aren't about burning yourself out — they're about gathering energy.

You don't learn to be "better than others" — you learn to be authentically yourself. Instead of drills and rigid rules, you'll experience a living martial art that brings body, mind, and spirit into harmony.

No rigid syllabus. No competitions. No performance pressure.

What you learn

Guiding Qi consciously

Learn to feel your inner energy in your body and direct it purposefully — the foundation of every internal martial art.

Geng in motion

Structure, rootedness and softness come together in a calm, powerful expression — without muscular force.

Self-defense

Practical applications from Wuzu Quan — direct feedback, realistic situations, full attention.

Why inner Kung Fu?

Many people practice combat sports — very few discover the true essence of internal martial arts. Here you learn real Kung Fu from within: feel Qi, develop Yi, calm Shen.

Instead of exhausting workouts, we cultivate and gather energy.
Instead of show and competition, you build body control, confidence, and inner strength.

Our roots trace back to the Shaolin tradition of South China. Wuzu Quan unites practical self-defense with deep inner work.

Wuji Quan takes it further: absolute softness, clarity, and relaxation — like wind or water.

The foundation of my work

The 5 principles of my teaching

  1. 01

    Individual coaching over one-size-fits-all

Everyone is different. Whether you're a beginner, have physical limitations, or have already tried many styles — I meet you where you are. You set the pace, intensity, and personal focus.

  2. 02

Focus on Qi, Yi, and Shen

Instead of surface-level movement sequences, you train the inside:

    • Qi — Feel and strengthen your life force
    • Yi — Focus your willpower and intention
    • Shen — Bring your mind to stillness
  3. 03

    Real martial art, not performance

What you learn is usable. No artificial forms or audience choreography — just honest techniques with depth from Wuzu Quan, Wuji, Vee Arnis Jiu-Jitsu, and complementary styles.

  4. 04

    No belts — only progress

No belt ladder, exams, or trophies. What counts is your inward path. You train for yourself — not for a badge.

  5. 05

    Training for life

Joint-friendly, holistic, and sustainable practice. Many students are 50+ and say: "I've never felt better." This isn't a youth trend — it's a lifelong art.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this Kung Fu and martial arts school. Christian brings not only decades of experience, but also a calm and enthusiasm that is rarely found today. He takes his time, explains techniques clearly, and gives individual attention to each student. The atmosphere is both motivating and respectful – you simply feel welcome, whether you're training for the first time or have been attending for years. Anyone who wants to experience Kung Fu and holistic martial arts will find a wonderful place here.

Great Qi Gong classes! Teacher with a lot of experience — highly recommended! I trained with him 25 years ago, and now he's even softer, more fluid, more precise, more powerful.

Super Qi Gong und Gong Fu Training. Ein Trainer mit viel Erfahrung in Kampfkunst und Chinesischer Medizin. Hier geht es wirklich um 'internal power' und das Innere der Chinesischen Kampfkunst.

I experience Christian Weidl as a clear, competent, ego-free trainer for Systema Vasiliev. The training is very well structured, practice-oriented, and highly informative in a pleasant atmosphere. Constant aha-moments – the classes are fun and make real progress! Highly recommended!

My approach — the path inward

Hi, I'm Christian — I've taught internal martial arts for over 20 years.

I received my first black belt in Wuzu Quan in 1999, a style that has formed the heart of my teaching ever since. Since 2001 I've focused on Wuji Qigong, realistic self-defense, and additional arts I've collected over many years.

I have studied over 30 fighting styles worldwide — and am still developing. From judo and karate to taiji, wuzu, and wuji to tongbei, systema, and Vee Arnis jujitsu — my system grows constantly in depth and breadth.

My philosophy: I combine the best principles and techniques, pressure-test them, and pass them on individually — without mindless imitation.

My classes are 100% tailored to you.

Everyone brings different strengths, interests, and body types — so there's no fixed syllabus:

  • If Baji resonates with you, we start there.
  • Interested in weapons work? No problem.
  • Focused on health and energy practice? We go deeper into Wuji and Qigong.

The common foundation is Wuzu Quan (Five Ancestors) — uniting internal power, precision, agility, and practical self-defense.

What matters to me: techniques must be healthy, applicable, and realistic — no show, no ego.

FAQ

01 Do I need prior experience?

No. Classes are structured so beginners can start immediately — regardless of age, fitness, or physical limitations.

Those with experience are met wherever they are.

02 What makes your classes different from other martial arts?

The focus isn't on exhausting workouts or competition — it's on inner development. You learn to feel Qi, understand your body, and use techniques that actually work.

The foundation is Wuzu Quan, complemented by Wuji, Systema, and Vee Arnis Jujitsu.

03 When and where do classes take place?

Qi Gong & Wuji on Wednesdays 6:15–7:15 pm, Internal Kung Fu on Wednesdays 7:15–8:15 pm, Systema on Thursday evenings — all in person at Grimmstraße 1, 80336 Munich (Ludwigsvorstadt, 2 min from U-Bahn Poccistraße).

A free trial class is available anytime.

04 Do you also offer Systema?

Yes — since October 2025 we teach official Vasiliev Systema in Munich, with three directly certified instructors. Thursday evenings, join anytime.

More info and FAQ on the Systema course page.

05 Are there belts or exams?

No. There are no belt grading systems, no ranks, no certificates.

Your development is individual — you learn at your own pace, for yourself, not for a system.

06 Can I join as an older adult?

Absolutely. Many students are 50+ and say they've never felt better before.

Classes are joint-friendly, sustainable, and designed for a lifetime of practice — not a youth trend.
